My Most Recent Notes
Hello again! I really do not post much here, because I have a maximalist mind. One, I am an overthinker and have anxiety, so there is actually lots going on up there. But I also am taking about 20 credits this semester as well as working almost full-time hours split up between three jobs, as well as volunteering and leading different events outside of work and school. So, as you can see, I have a ton on my plate. In fact, I believe that your time should be minimalized as well. True minimalists are not overcommitted running around like a chicken with its head cut off. This is a specific area that which I have a ton of work I need to put into. I am not here to make excuses or blab on and on about my personal problems. I wanted to show what has been going through my mind recently on the note of minimalism.
I am not sure if I have mentioned this here before or not, but I use a website and app called Notion (or notion.so) to help me plan out my whole life- literally my classes, my schedule, my finances, my food ideas, my minimalism...it's all there and easy to access for me. But this has allowed me to see what it looks like to have a minimalist life via the website. It also gives me a specific space (other than this blog) to formulate my thoughts on minimalism and what steps I need to take next. So, this was what I was able to brainstorm over the past month or so.
- Brainstorming
- I want to get my wardrobe minimalist and aesthetic.
- keep summer apparel (to about 10 of each item of clothes)
- I need to keep some warmer clothes.
- I want to lower my accessories & focus on what I use regularly and think I look cute in
- Again, almost everything has a limit of about 7-10. I don’t need more than about 10 earrings or 7 rings, for example.
- I want to get rid of possessions that have little to no use in my life, or something that is “too special” to me to use.
- If there are specific possessions that I really like for the looks more than for their use, I can take a picture of it and save that away. Pictures tend to last longer if they are saved well!!
- I want to re-gift everything that has never been used before, but I can still hand out my old possessions to my roommate and friends.
- I have a regifting ‘center’ in my room, but half of the stuff no one would want. So, I can put together mini (and random) gift bags to personally hand to friends (and make it clear that it is not all brand-new stuff, but maybe they can get more use from it!!). Or, I could donate some of the items. The trash can also does exist; it is an option.
- I want to be able to create a simple meal plan for a minimalist lifestyle (including cheaper foods, some variety, and a few special treats [or maybe one a week]).
- I want my social media to be aesthetic, too!!! (Maybe pick a font, color, size, etc.)
- I also need to post more regularly on social media- like bi-weekly for IG, weekly for YT, and as often as I can (at least twice a month) on Red Bubble.
- I want my schedule to be consistent, as open as possible, and organized. Thus, being minimalist & aesthetic.
