Beginnings

Every journey has to have a beginning. This is where I found mine:  I was surfing the internet on YouTube, and I came across a video that was all about the minimalist lifestyle. The start of the video was literally the creator laying on the floor and saying that it was his bed. Then, he continued to go to the kitchen to make his breakfast, with literally one fork, one knife, and one spoon. He sat at a table with one chair, and the rest of the kitchen was empty. He then started filming the "talk". He explained that the minimalist lifestyle did not need to be too extreme. Just a few days or hours later, I watched another video talking about what it means to be a minimalist and what is reasonable in that sense. From these videos alone, I realized that having a minimalist lifestyle could help me clear out my mind along with my belongings and keep my focus on what keeps me going.  Over the years I have taken the time to evaluate my possessions. Minimalist Me

Welcome to My Journey in Minimalism I am here to let you know that I am not an expert in minimalism, nor am I all the way there yet. I created this blog to document the journey from some of the things that I have already learned, to show you what I have ahead, and to take you along as I learn the new things.  First off, I think there are a few things you need to know about me . We have the fact that I am a collector. This is a number one problem in the journey to minimalism because collectors are rarely willing to give up the collection, or even a few pieces from the collection. Yet, I believe that minimalists can still be collectors. They just have to know what is hoarding and what is collecting. For example, it is different if you have the collection in a case, versus in a pile hidden somewhere on your bottomless floor.  Secondly, I like to save money- except when it comes to food.
